Exclusion is necessary to nationalism according to Anderson and McClintock. National state or national community was developed through form of capitalism and print-languages. They help determine the culture root and developed the common national consciousness. The exclusion is necessary to distinguish culture origins and national differences between nations. It is necessary to maintain the pride or nationalism which is needed for the survival of a nation. If the people in that nation have no nationalism or respect for that nation, that nation will soon be gone. What makes them proud of their nation is their cultural differences or their uniqueness. Therefore exclusion is necessary to maintain the originality and uniqueness of that nationality. For me, my own national community not only has the distingust common culture/origin but also has the understanding of the historical significants.
